NEW JERSEY AGRICULTURAL LICENSE (CLASS G) EXAM

The New Jersey Agricultural License (Class G) Exam is intended for eligible applicants aged 16 or 17 who need to operate registered farm vehicles while actively performing farming-related work. Class G is an agricultural driver license, not a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). It permits the holder to drive qualifying farm vehicles under New Jersey’s licensing rules and restrictions.

The exam may cover important topics such as:

• Pre-trip inspections of tires, brakes, steering, lights, mirrors, and safety equipment.

• Safe operation of tractors, farm trucks, and other registered agricultural vehicles.

Candidates should also understand that the road test must be taken in a vehicle displaying Farmer Plates, rather than Farm Use plates.
